Africa-Press – Angola. The President of Vietnam, Luong Cuong, expressed on Thursday in Luanda the desire to deepen cooperation with Angola, building a development partnership, in the South-South context.

Speaking at the solemn session of the National Assembly in honor of his visit to the country, the Vietnamese statesman said it was necessary to strengthen political trust, continuously cultivate the foundations of good relations, solidarity and closeness of the two countries and peoples.

“Vietnam has to build exemplary South-South cooperation with Angola, elevate and promote the relationship between the countries in respect of the world,” he said, considering that the two states are dynamic economies in the region.

He said that Vietnamese companies linked to agriculture, oil, mining and telecommunications operate effectively in several African countries and said he hoped for a stable environment, in the legal framework, that would facilitate the creation, expansion of Vietnamese companies, investment and cooperation, in order to contribute to the economic development of Angola and strengthen the existing partnership.

Luong Cuong expressed support for Angola in several areas, with emphasis on agriculture, health, education and staff training, including the reception of Angolan students in educational institutions in Vietnam.

Still in the agricultural field, he expressed his country openness to transferring technology and equipment, as well as financing the acquisition of seeds and the training of specialists.

According to the president, Vietnam is ready to share experiences on innovation and socio-economic development with Angola and, at the same time, deepening economic, trade and investment cooperation, in line with political relations, trying to increase the volume of trade to US$1 trillion in the future.

During his speech, the President spoke of aspects related to his country policy within the framework of the global strategic partnership.

The President of Vietnam has been on a 72-hour visit to Angola since Wednesday as part of the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, considered a diplomatic milestone with great symbolism and strategic ambition.
