Africa-Press – Angola. Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on Thursday was received by his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço, at the Cidade Alta Presidential Palace, in Luanda, a moment that symbolizes the beginning and the spotlight of his state visit for the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
After the welcome ceremony, which included the singing of the national anthems and reviewing the honor guard, the two Heads of State proceeded to a private meeting, during which they will review the historical ties that unites Angola and Vietnam, relations forged during the liberation struggles and strengthened over the past decades.
During the meeting, João Lourenço and Luong Cuong address several topics of bilateral interest, with an emphasis on deepening diplomatic and political relations.
After the private meeting, the two Head of State are expected to address the ministerial meeting between the delegations of the two countries and then witness the signing of legal instruments that mark a new stage in bilateral cooperation.
Agreements and memoranda of understanding are expected to be signed in areas such as agriculture, energy, education, defense, trade, and techs.
The Vietnamese statesman’s work schedule for Wednesday (07) afternoon also includes a visit to the National Assembly, where Luong Cuong is expected to deliver a speech.
Luong Cuong’s visit, which concludes on Friday (08), is considered a diplomatic milestone with great symbolism and strategic ambition, as it reaffirms the political will to elevate bilateral cooperation to a multidimensional level, going beyond historical ties and advancing concrete projects in the economic, political, and cultural spheres.
