The challenge between Petro de Luanda and Progresso Sambizanga is the opening poster for the 43rd edition of the National Senior Women’s Handball Championship, which will be held from today until the 19th of this month, in the city of Lubango, province of Huíla, with the participation of of eleven teams, divided into two groups (A and B).
In the opening game, the champion team, tricolores, Luanda, and the sambilas, fifth-placed from the last edition, will be face to face. The lineup for the opening round also includes the games Grupo Desportivo Maculusso-Sporting de Moçâmedes, 1º de Agosto A-Sporting de Luanda, in another duel that is expected to be close, between two teams that are known to each other. After the official opening ceremony, which takes place at 15:00, the teams Sporting de Cabinda and Grupo Desportivo da ENDE da Huíla and 1º de Agosto B and Electro do Lobito will also play.
For the first time, the Multipurpose Pavilion of Nossa Senhora do Monte, in the highlands of Chela, hosts the festival of the sport, under the aegis of the Angolan Handball Federation (FAAND), for ten days, witnessing the exhibitions of the best teams in the country in the dispute of the title, who lives in Catetão. In the A series, there are the 1º de Agosto A and B, Sporting de Luanda, Electro do Lobito, Sporting de Cabinda and ENDE da Huíla teams, while B is made up of Petro de Luanda, Progresso Sambizanga, Maculusso, Sporting do Namibe and Personal House of the Port of Lobito (CPPL).
