Africa-Press – Botswana. Botswana has taken a major step toward transforming its health system with the inaugural meeting of the National Health Insurance (NHI) Reference Group. Convened by the Ministry of Health, the session marks a key milestone in the development of Botswana’s NHI model and the country’s broader goal of strengthening health financing.
The Reference Group brings together stakeholders from across the country with a shared vision of ensuring every Motswana has access to affordable and quality healthcare. Participants include representatives from government, civil society, academia, the private sector, and development partners. Their collaboration will guide the design of a National Health Insurance system that is inclusive, evidence-based, and aligned with national priorities.
