Africa-Press – Cape verde. The amounts of the pensions to be granted to the capable heirs of the soldiers who died in the Serra Malagueta accident were released. There are 63,930$00 for sergeants and 31,920$00 for privates.
José Almeida, from the Personnel Command of the Armed Forces of Cape Verde, explained to Inforpress that two values were defined. This is because the “blood price” pensions are assigned by class and, in this case, the Sergeant and Private class, which includes corporals and soldiers.
According to him, for the children the pension is in force until they reach the age of 25, if they are studying, in the case of the widow during the period in which the condition of widowhood is maintained and of the parents it is for life.
The calculations include the subsidy for military status and the amounts are tax-free, pursuant to article 182 of the Military Statute.
There are eight soldiers in total, including a sergeant, a first corporal, three second corporals and three soldiers.
