Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Seventh-day Adventist Church launched the “Motivated for Mission” project today on Maio Island, an initiative focused on social and spiritual support and empowerment of women in local communities.

The project, which brings together a delegation of about 100 women and pastors from Santiago Island, aims to promote outreach to the population, focusing on care, inspiration, and strengthening of families.

According to the organization, it is a movement that aims to bring hope, support, and a sense of mission, especially on an island where the Adventist presence is still small, currently counting only eight members.

The main activities will take place today and Sunday, including social and spiritual initiatives.

This afternoon, a missionary outing is planned, with moments of praise, as well as the distribution of basic food baskets to vulnerable families and hygiene kits to users of the Health Department.

On Sunday, a health fair will be held at the João Cruz Basic School in the city of Porto Inglês, between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

The initiative includes medical consultations, blood glucose and blood pressure checks, nutritional guidance, psychological support, and information on the so-called eight natural remedies, promoting an integrated approach to health.

The “Motivated for the Mission” project affirms itself as a commitment to the care, dignity, and empowerment of women, recognizing their essential role in transforming families and communities.
