Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Ministry of Tourism and Transport is promoting, from today until February 10th, the Adventure Week Cabo Verde (AWCV), an event focused on adventure and nature tourism on the islands of São Nicolau, Santo Antão, and São Vicente.
According to a statement from the ministry quoted by Inforpress, for eight days, participants will explore routes, cultures, and experiences with the aim of “strengthening Cabo Verde’s image” as an internationally renowned destination in this segment.
The initiative aims to attract international operators and markets, promote sustainable tourism practices, and stimulate the local economy, valuing the communities of the three islands involved in the itinerary.
Among the international participants, the Ministry of Tourism highlights the presence of National Geographic, Lindblad Expeditions (USA), SNP Natuurreizen (Netherlands), A2Z Adventures (Portugal), as well as operators certified by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) and media specializing in adventure and sustainability.
According to the same source as this newspaper, the AWCV takes place within the framework of the Assistance and Support Project for Hiking Tourism, integrated into the Resilient Tourism and Blue Economy Development program, financed by the World Bank, with technical support from the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), the world’s largest adventure tourism association.
The event also has the partnership of the municipal councils of the islands of São Nicolau, Santo Antão and São Vicente, as well as tour operators.
