Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Câmara dos Mosteiros donated plots of land to ten young people from the town of Mosteiros Trás for the construction of their own housing, as part of the municipal program “Nha kaza nha grandeur” (my house my pride).

The formalization of the contract for the donation of land for construction of housing took place at the Professional Training Center in Mosteiros Trás, last Monday, the 15th, within the scope of the third edition of the community animation program, promoted by the Department of the Family, Health and Social Action and was chaired by the mayor, Fábio Vieira.

Last year, 18 young people from the locality of Relva, in the southern part of the municipality, were covered and this time, ten young people were covered, mostly from Mosteiros Trás, from low-income families, under the “Nha Kaza Nha Grandeza” program through one of its axes of “incentive to construction”.

The donation contracts contain a ban on the sale or donation of lots to third parties by beneficiaries, and the obligation to start construction work on the housing up to a maximum of six months after the date of signature of the document, under penalty of revert to the benefit of the municipality.

On the same day and in the same location, Mosteiros Trás, the city council delivered ten wheelchairs to people with reduced mobility, as part of the Family Day celebrations.

Wheelchairs for people with motor disabilities were mobilized from the Black Boys Association ASBL, an institution based in Luxembourg and chaired by Cristiano Rodrigues, son of parents from Mosteir.

“Nha kaza nha grandeur” program

“Nha kaza nha grandeur” is a housing program by the Câmara dos Mosteiros, created in 2021 to combat the housing deficit in the municipality, based on three axes, construction, rehabilitation and incentives for construction, according to information available on the official website of the chamber. .

Building incentives are given through the granting of support in building materials for emergency interventions, the design of plots of land and administrative support such as exemptions, co-financing of architectural projects.

In total, about three dozen young people benefited from plots of land for construction and all located in the coastal area on municipally owned land.
