Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verdeans moved a total of 3,572,131,087 escudos in purchases, withdrawals, and transfers on the vinti4 network between December 28th and January 1st, 2026, according to data released today by SISP.
According to the Interbank Society and Payment Systems (SISP), 620,921 purchase transactions were registered at Automatic Payment Terminals (POS), totaling 2,008,805,851 escudos, more than 14% and 30%, respectively, compared to the previous year.
Withdrawals made at vinti4 ATMs totaled 861,688,000 escudos in 144,173 transactions, more than 8% and 12%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
Regarding transfers on the vinti4 network, SISP reported a total of 701,637,236 escudos in 22,090 transactions, an increase of approximately 57% in the number of transactions and 87% in value.
Combining the three types of transactions—purchases, withdrawals, and transfers—SISP reported 787,184 transactions totaling 3,572,131,087 escudos, increases of 14% and 33%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
In the week leading up to Christmas, between December 15th and 25th, a total of over 9 billion escudos were transacted in Cape Verde on the vinti4 network, showing a 22.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
