Africa-Press – Cape verde. The first and only five-star hotel in the city of Praia, owned by Valor Hotéis e Turismo (VHT), located in Prainha, opens its doors in May this year, under the management of the Barceló Group.

The luxury hotel, which according to a statement from VTH, will bear the name “Hotel Barceló”, is the realization of an ambition to raise the quality of the tourist offer in the country’s capital, after a process of improving demand alignment with the best international quality standards.

The tourist resort has a total of 70 rooms, plus 10 suites, including a presidential suite, a conference room, an infinity pool and two restaurants, the main one being called “Jasmim Restaurante”.

“The international positioning and operation of a hotel with these characteristics, the first and only five-star hotel in the country’s capital, requires expertise and professional experience only found in hotel chains with recognized international notoriety”, highlighted VTH in the note shared with Inforpress.

In this sense, adds the same source that the owner company selected to operate its hotel, the Barceló Group, one of the most prestigious international hotel chains, with more than 245 hotels, in more than 21 countries, a travel agency network, tour operators , an aviation company, which represents an added value not only for the success of the hotel, but also for the positioning of the island of Santiago as a quality tourist destination.

“The marketing strategy recommended a rapid international positioning of the hotel with the name Barceló Hotel, taking into account the prestige of the brand associated with the Barceló Group”, he added.

The project, according to the same source, will create between 60 and 70 jobs.
