Fernando Elísio Freire made this statement to the press, on the sidelines of the reflection workshop on the topic: “Family and the challenges of parenthood”, held this morning at the Hotel and Tourism School, with the purpose of discussing responsible maternity and paternity.
“It is important to reflect on the family and the theme of this year is relevant because it is the great problem of our families and the country. In Cabo Verde, most of the family has a mother and a child, so we have to make policies that reach these families, at various levels, despite the difficult situation imposed on us by covid-19 and now with the war”, He said.
In this context, he added that the Government has been working in the various areas in which the family must have dignity, such as in the case of income and housing, in cultivating good neighborly relationships and social capital, also pointing to maternity and paternity leave as examples of good executive decision.
