Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Government announced this Wednesday, the 19th, the launch of “May Health Month”, an initiative that aims to raise awareness about the importance of the population’s health and well-being.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, the campaign will be officially inaugurated on the 2nd of May by the Prime Minister, in partnership with the Minister of Health, and will include several actions throughout the month to raise awareness among the population about healthy practices and disease prevention.
The same source explains that the proposal arises as a government commitment to reinforce preventive health and strengthen health services in the country, involving different sectors of society, from public and private entities to non-governmental organizations and educational institutions.
The objective is to promote a holistic approach to health, considering its relationship with social, economic and environmental factors.
“May Health Month” will be structured around five pillars: Health Awareness and Education, Promotion of Preventive Actions, Strengthening Collaboration in Health, Strengthening Health Services and Celebrating Achievements and Challenges.
The campaign will include a wide range of activities, such as health fairs, community events, conferences, workshops and tributes to health professionals. In addition, the campaign will be expanded through the media and social networks, seeking to engage society in promoting a healthier lifestyle.
The Government of Cape Verde counts on the support of city councils, educational institutions, NGOs, public and private companies and international organizations to ensure the success of the initiative.
