Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Energy informed this Thursday, 9th, that, in 2023, the extension of the additional period of two months (June and July) for the industrialization of sugarcane, foreseen by the decree -law 11/2015, of February 12th.
The sugarcane industrialization period starts on the 1st of January and ends on the 31st of May.
This year, according to a government statement, quoted by Inforpress, producers will not have the two-month extension, so they are warned to comply with current legislation on the problem of brandy production.
In the case of the municipality of Porto Novo, Santo Antão, producers have already asked the Government to revise the law on brandy.
