Africa-Press – Cape verde. Laginha beach, in Mindelo, will host a new festival concept on June 28th and 29th that will combine education and environmental sustainability with art in order to encourage greater protection.

The Blue Alt Fest is held in partnership between the environmental organization Biosfera and the musical groups Oásis Underground and Insulada, who want to use the resort for a program that will begin on the morning of the 28th, explained to the press the president of Biosfera, Tommy Melo.

During the day, according to the same source, information and environmental awareness activities will be promoted, including diving, drone viewing, debate on topics and sports activities.

At the end of the day, the moment is reserved for cultural presentations by various artists, as a way of combining sustainability with art.

“It is a starting point that we believe will take hold in Cape Verde and our idea is to hold it every year on a different island to try to use local realities and embrace different causes”, summarized Tommy Melo.

Laginha was chosen because it is an urban beach with easy access, and also because it presents natural opportunities such as the coral cove, the same source said.

In addition to awareness and cultural activities, the festival also includes a cleaning campaign on the 29th, with the participation of guest artists.

“It is a way of showing that the art world can also be integrated into sustainability and environmental protection,” explained the president of Biosfera.

Also as promoter, Micau Piedade asserted that the event has the musical participation of names, from different artistic variants, among them Eric, Arimar, Seven Sea and ends at midnight with the rapper Batchart.

For now, according to the same source, “a perfect union” between the protection of nature and music, which brings inner happiness.

Among the new features presented, Tommy Melo announced that they will create containers for collecting garbage and will also hold quizzes with the bathers present, with the possibility of winning prizes.
