Africa-Press – Cape verde. The general secretary of the Movement for Democracy (MpD, ruling party) considered today the evolution of press freedom in Cabo Verde to be “positive”, highlighting the rise of three positions in the ranking of the Repórter Sem Fronteiras (Reporter Without Borders) (RSF).

Luís Carlos Silva made these remarks at a press conference in Praia, for his party’s position on the ranking released today, worldwide, and in which Cabo Verde rose three positions.

“We approach this ranking with great responsibility and peacefulness, however we don’t boast when we go up and nor do we get depressed when we go down, we consider that the rankings are important to understand the path we are on, where we are and what steps we should adopt to improve our position and our performance in these matters”, argued Luís Carlos Silva.

“This is excellent news for all of us and it shows that we are on the right path”, reinforced the general secretary of the party that supports the Government.
