Olavo Correia defends the importance of ADB representation in Cape Verde to improve response times

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia, defended the need for an African Development Bank (ADB) office in Cape Verde to improve the speed of responses to project financing.

“One of the biggest challenges we have has to do with the speed of responses and, having an ADB office in Cape Verde facilitates the coordination, joint work and the entire decision-making process, ensuring that we are quick in preparing projects, but also in its approval and execution”. The Minister of the Digital Economy said it, after a meeting with a mission composed of seven ADB administrators.

As he said, the Government is also working with a group of entities that will have representations in Cape Verde in the near future, including the ADB “to allow all the guidance to be done more easily”.

In addition to the issue of ADB representation, Olavo Correia addressed the issue of regional integration with the delegation, a sector where he argues that “a previous problem” should be resolved, which has to do with maritime transport, the connection between Cape Verde and Senegal, Abidjan, Nigeria and with the other countries of the African continent.
