The Prime Minister of Cape Verde, José Ulisses Correia e Silva, will be on the island of Boa Vista for two days to lead the inauguration ceremonies for the Rehabilitation and Musealization of Fort Duque de Bragança, scheduled for today, Wednesday, at 5 pm, and the new Museum of Archeology on the island of Boa Vista scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, June 8th, at 11am.

The inauguration of the new structure of the Museum of Archeology of Boa Vista, considered an “emblematic project”, is the result of a significant investment of 15,800,000 Cape Verde Escudos (fifteen thousand eight hundred million Cape Verde Escudos).

The renovated Forte Duque de Bragança, located on the Sal Rei islet, is, according to a press release, “possible thanks to an investment amounting to PTE 4,208,927 (4,208,927$00)”, co-financed in part by the National Directorate for the Environment, through the Bio-Tur program, with the support of the UNDP, in the amount of 3 thousand contos (3,508,927 CV).

According to the Government, the inauguration of these two important projects marks “an important step” in enhancing the historical and cultural heritage of Boa Vista, strengthening its tourist attractiveness and enhancing the socio-economic development of the island.
