Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cabo Verdean Weightlifting Federation announced today the cancellation of the Strongman Cabo Verde 2023 competition, due to the poor participation of athletes. A new date may be defined, upon expression of interest by more athletes.
In a statement shared on its Facebook page, the federation made it known that the number of subscribers does not allow the competition to take place, respecting the regulations of national competitions.
It is that, as he indicated, only three men and three women submitted applications, which invalidates carrying out this sporting activity.
However, depending on the expression of interest from athletes, a new date may be indicated.
As for the athletes who have completed the registration and qualification process, they will be able to participate, with the approval of the regional association, in the national powerlifting championship, scheduled for the 26th of August, on the island of Fogo.
