Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Centre for Legal Studies (CEJ) of Portugal will help Cape Verde by sharing experience and carrying out a technical mission with a view to creating the Centre for Legal and Judicial Training (CFJJ) in the archipelago.

The Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa, was received on Wednesday by the director of the CEJ of Portugal, Judge Fernando Vaz Ventura, who encouraged the minister to move forward with the project, guaranteeing the collaboration of the institution he directs in its implementation.

On the occasion, the Cape Verdean leader presented the current status of the process of creating the CFJJ, detailing the objectives, model, structure, as well as the necessary and ongoing reforms to improve the archipelago’s judicial system, given the increase in pending cases and the challenges of the sector.

Joana Rosa highlighted the need to maintain the partnership with the CEJ, namely in the training of trainers and ongoing training of magistrates, a collaboration that, according to her, has been beneficial for Cape Verde.
