Portugal: Eurico Monteiro is no longer Cabo Verde’s ambassador in Morocco

Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cabo Verde’s ambassador to Portugal, Eurico Correia Monteiro, with residence in Lisbon, is no longer the archipelago’s ambassador to Morocco, a post he had held since July 2019, according to a presidential decree.

“The Ordinary Service Commission of Eurico Correia Monteiro, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cabo Verde to the Kingdom of Morocco, is hereby terminated, as proposed by the Government, with effect from 31 May 2023,” Presidential Decree No. 9/2023 of Thursday, 15 May, read.

According to the document published in the Official Gazette (B.O.), the decree was signed by the President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, and came into force “immediately,” that is, on 31 May, meaning that Eurico Correia Monteio would no longer accumulate the two functions.

The Cabo Verde ambassador began his duties in Portugal in January 2017 and two years later, in July 2019, in Morocco, representation that was provided by the Cabo Verde embassy in Senegal.
