Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Praia City Hall is reinforcing urban cleaning with a mega-campaign on the riverbank that connects Vila Nova to Lém Ferreira, and is therefore asking for everyone’s contribution to a cleaner and more airy city.
This information was released by the municipality on its official page, explaining that cleaning and unclogging work on this riverbank has been underway since the 2nd, and includes neighborhoods in Vila Nova, Lém Cachorro, Fazenda, Paiol, and Lém Ferreira.
The work is being carried out by the city hall’s sanitation team, led by Bruno Tavares.
According to the same source, the initiative, which follows up on cleaning work on the capital’s riverbanks, aims to reinforce urban cleaning, especially after the tourist season.
With this, it added, it intends to contribute to a healthier environment in the city of Praia, which it considers important for the well-being of its residents.
The same source reminded everyone that the emergency crew had already cleaned the stream that runs from Castelão to the entrance of the neighboring Paiol neighborhood, and that they are currently continuing work along the entire stream.
Therefore, they appealed for everyone’s cooperation in not throwing trash into the streams and slopes, in order to help the municipality keep the city clean and well-ventilated.
