Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic is participating today in the 1st Extraordinary Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP), held at the Beijing Hall, to assess the prevailing situation in Guinea-Bissau.
Cabo Verde is represented at the highest level by the Head of State, José Maria Neves, who is participating virtually from the Beijing Hall of the Presidency of the Republic.
The summit begins at 11:00 a.m. and includes the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, José Luís Livramento.
According to a press release from the Presidency of the Republic, the Extraordinary Conference will review the Final Communiqué of the 17th Extraordinary Meeting of the CPLP Council of Ministers, which, on December 5, expressed “deep concern” over the political and institutional situation in Guinea-Bissau following the coup d’état of November 26, 2025.
