Africa-Press – Cape verde. The National Commission for Human Rights and Citizenship (CNDHC) promotes, this Friday, the 15th, on the island of Maio, training on Human Rights for early childhood education professionals and Basic Education teachers.
The training will start at 8:30 am, in the amphitheater of the Horace Silver Secondary School, with the intervention of the President of CNDHC, Zaida Morais de Freitas. According to a press release, this training is part of the “Human Rights for Children” project, promoted by CNDHC.
The initiative is financed by “PlanBørnefonden”, which aims to create material conditions for the teaching and learning of Human Rights in the formal education system, for children aged 5 to 10 years.
Empower and raise awareness Training on Human Rights aims to sensitize and train primary school teachers and early childhood education professionals to use the teaching materials produced under the aforementioned project.
The idea is to contribute to a greater culture of respect and practice of Human Rights in Cape Verde, laying the foundations for children to internalize these principles so that they become aware and respectful adults of Human Rights.
It should also be noted that the “Human Rights for Children” project falls within the scope of the CNDHC’s responsibilities in terms of Education, namely the promotion of initiatives aimed at training and encouraging respect for Human Rights (Article 5 of the CNDHC Statutes).
