Tropical Wave Weakens but Delivers Light Rain in Cape Verde

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The INMG (National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics) reported today that the archipelago will be affected by a new tropical wave on the 22nd and 23rd, but its intensity is expected to decrease as it moves westward.

According to the National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics (INMG), light rain or drizzle is expected in the next 24 hours on the Sotavento Islands.

On the Western Barlavento Islands (Sal and Boa Vista), only drizzle is expected.

The transition from August 22nd to 23rd will bring a reduction in the intensity of the tropical wave due to the entry of dry air at altitude, but there is still a possibility of light, sometimes moderate, rain.

The precipitation will begin in the Sotavento Islands and gradually spread to the other islands of the archipelago.

For the morning of August 24th, the INMG forecasts drizzle, mainly in the higher areas.

Regarding the sea state, waves will continue to come from the south, with heights between 1.0 and 2.5 meters, decreasing in coastal areas and in the sectors between the islands.
