Africa-Press – Cape verde. The water production and distribution company (Electra) suspended the distribution of water on the island of São Vicente for an “imperative intervention”, due to a failure in three pumping pipes located in Laginha.
According to the company, it is a matter of remodeling these sections of the pumping pipeline, replacing the PVC piping with polyethylene, so that, in order to carry out the work, it was necessary for Electra to suspend the distribution of water on the island from Wednesday- fair, 17.
Replacement scheduled for “no later than the 21st”
The company expects that the work will take place by the end of the current week, so it promises to “make every effort” so that the water supply to the island is restored in advance or “at the latest on the 21st”.
On the other hand, Electra, days before the start of the work, broadcast on the radios and social networks requests to customers to make “some reserve” of water at home “as far as possible”, at the same time appealing to the “reasonable use” and “apologies for any inconvenience”.
