Africa-Press – Eswatini. One of the renowned pioneers of pure Swati comedy, Lungelo ‘Smallz The Comedian’ Gina, has passed on.
His demise was confirmed by his father, Mduduzi Gina, who is Secretary General of the Trade Union Congress of Swaziland (TUCOSWA) yesterday evening. Mduduzi said he had been informed that his son had died in a car accident. Meanwhile, a source who preferred anonymity, said the comedian was a passenger in the car, while a female companion was driving. The source shared that the accident occurred at Jabulani as they were from Madlangampisi, heading towards the Dvokolwako direction.

“I am not sure why he was not driving, but from what I heard, the accident happened when they tried to avoid hitting a dog,” shared the source. It is said that an attempt to avoid hitting the dog resulted in the car overturning. Both occupants were rushed to the Dvokolwako Health Centre, where the comedian was certified dead upon arrival, while the female survived the accident. Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed the accident.
