Africa-Press – Eswatini. Her Majesty the Indlovukazi has described this year’s Tetfulo as an “overflowing national prayer,” as emaSwati delivered a record-breaking tribute in honour of King Mswati III ahead of His 58th Birthday and the 40th Anniversary of His Coronation.
The ceremony, held at the Mandvulo Grand Hall on April 18, brought together government, corporate institutions, traditional leadership and citizens in a unified display of loyalty, gratitude and cultural pride.
Addressing the gathering, the Indlovukazi expressed deep appreciation for the scale of participation, noting the growing unity and devotion demonstrated by emaSwati across all sectors of society.
“The gathering has grown so much, Your Majesty; it has truly become a prayer,” she said. “I am deeply moved because you, the people of Ngwane, have progressed significantly. You have held onto that spirit of love. It is truly amazing and uplifting to see how everyone has immersed themselves in these traditional milestones. This year, the blessings are overflowing everywhere, Your Majesty, even among the children of this nation.”
Her Majesty herself presented furniture as part of the Tetfulo offerings.
This year’s Tetfulo has so far reached E18 230 836 in cash and 261 cattle, marking the highest birthday-specific contribution in the Kingdom’s history.
Beyond cash and livestock, emaSwati presented a wide range of items reflecting both tradition and modern life, including groceries, blankets, farming produce, traditional regalia, goats, sheep, poultry, and electronics such as televisions and refrigerators, alongside household essentials.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a Toyota Land Cruiser Safari vehicle by Cabinet Ministers on behalf of the Government of Eswatini, symbolising state loyalty and service to the Throne.
Major corporate contributions also featured prominently. Montigny Investments presented E2 million, while Inyatsi Group contributed E1.5 million.
Traditional leadership further reinforced national unity, with chiefs from the Hhohho Region collectively presenting 60 cattle, the highest regional livestock contribution recorded at the ceremony.
During the King’s 57th birthday celebrations held in Nhlangano in 2025, emaSwati presented approximately E15 million and 180 cattle. This year’s figures represent an increase of over E3.2 million and 81 cattle, underscoring the significance of the Ruby Jubilee marking four decades of His Majesty’s reign.
The Indlovukazi’s remarks underscored Tetfulo as more than a ceremonial presentation of wealth, but a reaffirmation of the sacred bond between the Monarch and the nation.
As the Kingdom moves toward the main celebrations of the double anniversary, the atmosphere at Lozitha reflected unity, pride and anticipation, with emaSwati once again demonstrating unwavering allegiance to the Throne through a deeply rooted cultural tradition.
