Eswatini Welcomes 11 Third-Country Nationals from USA

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eleven third-country nationals from the United States of America are set to arrive in Eswatini this month, marking another significant step in the Kingdom’s growing role in international humanitarian cooperation.

The operation follows a bilateral agreement between Eswatini and the US Government to collaborate in the safe transit and repatriation of foreign nationals.

The group will be accommodated in a secure, isolated facility, ensuring both their protection and national security while preparations are made for their return to their countries of origin. This process is being carried out in close collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the relevant governments of the nationals’ home countries. The coordinated approach reflects Eswatini’s commitment to handling sensitive international matters with efficiency, compassion, and responsibility.

Successful Humanitarian Track Record

This latest phase builds on Eswatini’s proven record of successful international cooperation earlier this year, when the Kingdom received five third-country nationals from the USA as part of the same bilateral arrangement.

The initial group was received at King Mswati III International Airport under structured humanitarian protocols. They were temporarily housed in secure facilities to ensure their welfare while diplomatic engagements took place with their home countries. Working closely with IOM and various foreign embassies, Eswatini ensured that each individual received proper medical assessments, legal assistance, and logistical support.

A major milestone was achieved on 21 September 2025, when one of the five individuals was successfully reunited with his family in Jamaica, thanks to coordinated efforts between Eswatini, the Jamaican Government, and IOM. Two more members of that initial group are expected to be repatriated soon, building on the strong systems that have been developed through these operations.

Nation Reassured on Security

Government has assured the nation that the arriving third-country nationals pose no security threat to Eswatini or its neighbours, emphasizing that all necessary precautions have been taken. The individuals will remain under secure supervision throughout their stay, in line with international standards and domestic regulations.

“His Majesty’s Government continues to work with trusted international partners to ensure that Eswatini remains a safe, cooperative, and responsible member of the global community,” said Acting Government Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli, in a statement issued on 05 October 2025.

A Trusted Global Partner

Through these operations, Eswatini continues to cement its reputation as a trusted partner in global humanitarian efforts. By providing a safe transit point and facilitating dignified repatriation processes, the Kingdom demonstrates that even small nations can play a pivotal role in fostering international solidarity and responsible migration management.

This humanitarian partnership with the United States and IOM not only strengthens diplomatic ties but also showcases Eswatini’s capacity to balance national security, international cooperation, and human dignity, a reflection of its evolving global profile.
