Africa-Press – Eswatini. Dvokolwako Rural Education Centre on Wednesday hosted a one-day digital skills workshop to train teachers on integrating technology into teaching, in partnership with Limkokwing University interns and the Emlalatini Development Centre (EDC) team.

The workshop brought together six REC instructors and three local school teachers for hands-on training in essential digital tools for the modern classroom. Sessions covered online lesson development, assessment techniques for both virtual and physical environments, video conferencing, and use of Learning Management Systems (LMS).

The training was facilitated by the EDC team led by Principal Simon Maseko, with support from Limkokwing University IT interns. Dvokolwako High School Principal Sabelo Sibandze officially opened the workshop, while Mr. Innocent Simelane, Head of Dvokolwako REC, was also in attendance.

The workshop forms part of a broader digital transformation campaign by EDC to strengthen e-learning in Eswatini. Today, the team will deliver the same training to Nhletjeni REC, followed by Nyakatfo REC on Friday.

Throughout July, EDC aims to capacitate a total of 10 schools and five TVET institutions across the country. Among the targeted institutions are Ntfonjeni High School and REC, Ngwane Central High School and REC, and Lulakeni High School and REC.

The initiative seeks to empower educators with the skills and tools needed to adapt to digital learning environments and improve education outcomes across Eswatini.
