Africa-Press – Eswatini. In the heart of Pigg’s Peak, a wave of excitement is sweeping through the community as construction begins on a massive E135 million factory shell — a project that promises to reshape the town’s economic future.
This transformative development, led by Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo, stands as a shining example of Eswatini’s commitment to uplifting its people through industrial growth and opportunity.
A Bold Investment in Growth
With over 1 000 new jobs on the horizon, the factory shell marks a major step in the government’s vision of economic empowerment. Built by Stefanutti Stocks and powered by Obtuse Electrical, the project will be completed in just 14 months under the careful watch of RSZ Engineers and Owen Thindwa and Associates.
It is part of His Majesty King Mswati III’s ambitious goal to roll out 10 factory shells each year, ensuring that industrial development reaches every corner of the kingdom.
Building a Future for All
At the commissioning ceremony on December 4, 2024, Minister Khumalo spoke with passion about the project’s impact:
“The establishment of this factory in Pigg’s Peak is a direct response to the needs of the people. By reducing spatial disparities, we ensure that every Swazi, no matter their location, can experience the benefits of national growth and development.”
Beyond employment, the factory is set to fuel the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), improve local infrastructure, and drive inclusive development that leaves no one behind.
A Beacon of Hope
The Pigg’s Peak factory shell is more than just a building — it’s a beacon of hope for a brighter, more prosperous Eswatini. As the nation continues to prioritize regional development, projects like this remind us all of the incredible potential that lies within our communities.
Together, Eswatini is building a future where opportunity thrives, and every citizen can share in the rewards of progress.
