Africa-Press – Eswatini. Saneliswa Magagula, the Secretary General of EmaSwati for Change has released a statement on behalf of the political organization, demanding justice for assassinated eSwatini human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko.

“His untimely death remains a painful reminder of the sacrifices borne by those who stand against oppression and fight for a better future for all EmaSwati. Thulani Maseko dedicated his life to the cause of justice and human rights. On this solemn day, we honor his legacy by reaffirming our collective commitment to the ideals for which he stood. We remember Thulani not only for the principles he upheld but also for the humanity and humility with which he carried himself. His assassination was not merely an attack on an individual but on the very principles of freedom, justice, and equality that he tirelessly championed. In the two years since Thulani was taken from us, there has been no transparent investigation into his murder. This glaring inaction stands in stark contrast to the values that Thulani so deeply believed in, including the rule of law. Justice delayed is justice denied, and the perpetrators of this heinous crime must be held accountable. We continue to demand justice for Thulani Maseko and call upon the government of Eswatini to ensure a full, transparent, and independent investigation into his murder. We call on all EmaSwati, civil society organizations, and the global community to continue to advocate for the freedoms and reforms that Thulani envisioned. The fight for democracy, dignity, and the rule of law in Eswatini is far from over, and it is our responsibility to carry the torch forward. LLet Thulani’s memory fuel our resolve”, reads a statement sent to this Swaziland News.

The world is commemorating the assassination of the highly regarded lawyer who was the Chairperson of the pro-democracy MultiStakeholder Forum(MSF), the lawyer was also the former Secretary General of eSwatini’s main and largest political party, the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO).
