EOCGA LAUNCHES SECOND COHORT OF SPORTS ADMIN PROGRAM

Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) has reaffirmed its commitment to developing world-class sports leadership with the launch of the second cohort of the Sports Administration Level 2 program, set to begin this weekend.

The program follows the successful completion of the first cohort, held about six weeks ago, where participants were trained under the guidance of experienced facilitators Pearl Dlamini and Thoba Mazibuko. Their leadership ensured a highly engaging and insightful learning experience, according to EOCGA Marketing and Communications Officer, Mkhulisi Dlamini.

“The response from the first cohort was overwhelmingly positive. We saw genuine enthusiasm from participants who were eager to apply what they learned in their federations and organizations,” Dlamini said.

The second cohort is set to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders — including National Federation (NF) Presidents, Secretaries General (SGs), headteachers, and members of the media reflecting EOCGA’s inclusive approach to capacity building across all levels of sport.

The Sports Administration Level 2 program is part of EOCGA’s broader vision to professionalize sports management in Eswatini, equipping leaders with the necessary knowledge, governance skills, and strategic insight to drive sustainable growth within their federations.

Through initiatives like this, EOCGA continues to strengthen the backbone of local sport, ensuring that administrators, educators, and media practitioners are better prepared to support athletes and advance the Olympic movement in the country.

The association remains dedicated to empowering sports leaders who can transform Eswatini’s sporting landscape from grassroots participation to elite performance.

“We believe that strong administration is the foundation of sporting excellence,” added Dlamini. “This program is about ensuring that our leaders are equipped to make a lasting impact.”
