Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini’s food and beverage producers have been handed a golden ticket to expand their global reach, with the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) inviting them to exhibit at the prestigious Kaohsiung Food Show 2025 (KFS) in Taiwan.
The event, set for 23–26 October 2025 at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre, is one of Asia’s top food trade fairs, drawing major distributors, importers, and retail chains from across the region and beyond.
Local businesses have until 27 August 2025 to apply via https://tinyurl.com/2025KFSForm. Selected companies will be featured in the “Eswatini Pavilion” and will receive EIPA’s support throughout the event.
Backed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and facilitated by EIPA, Eswatini’s participation aims to connect high-quality local products with lucrative export markets. In 2024, the Kaohsiung Food Show hosted over 320 exhibitors and attracted approximately 15,900 trade visitors, including key industry decision-makers.
Thandeka Dlamini, EIPA’s Manager for External Trade Promotion, described the fair as a rare opportunity:
“The KFS is more than just an exhibition; it’s a gateway to a dynamic consumer market with an appetite for Eswatini-made products. It offers brand exposure, direct access to influential buyers, and the chance to secure export deals that can make a real difference in both the short and long term.”
The exhibition covers an extensive range of categories: fresh produce, seafood, meat, dairy, baked goods, beverages (including coffee, tea, wine, and spirits), frozen and processed foods, confectionery, spices, condiments, oils, health foods, and snacks.
Beyond product showcases, exhibitors can gain insights into market trends, packaging innovations, and buyer requirements, while forging strategic connections with importers, retailers, and foodservice professionals.
Eswatini’s exporters to Taiwan already benefit from the Eswatini–Taiwan Economic Cooperation Agreement (ECA), which offers tariff reductions and preferential trade terms. At the 27th Economic and Technical Cooperation Conference between the two nations on 2 July 2025, it was revealed that bilateral trade reached US$8.19 million in 2024—an 8% increase since 2017—with Eswatini’s exports rising by over 29% in the same period.
Dlamini stressed that these trade advantages should be turned into tangible growth:
“The ECA gives our producers a competitive edge. By exhibiting at the Kaohsiung Food Show, Eswatini businesses can convert these advantages into real export growth and lasting international partnerships.”
