Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini human rights defender Velaphi Mamba says all countries have their own culture while upholding democratic principles and values and, he wondered why eSwatini King promotes culture while suppressing calls for democratic reforms.
Speaking on his Visionary Perspectives Program hosted on Sunday, Mamba said, it’s pointless to celebrate culture under oppression.
“In fact all countries have their own culture while upholding democratic principles and the question is; why eSwatini is against democracy while promoting culture?”, he said.
Eswatini is ruled by King Mswati as an absolute Monarch, political parties are banned from participating in elections,Mamba said in eSwatini, culture is being used as a political tool to promote royal supremacy.
