Held under the inspiring theme “Future Wellness Thinking”, the summit aimed to redefine beauty and wellness standards in Eswatini, encouraging individuals to prioritise self-care and holistic well-being. The event drew a diverse audience—including the general public, industry professionals, students, and corporate stakeholders—creating an atmosphere rich in collaboration, learning, and networking.

Key Topics and Highlights

Attendees explored an array of relevant subjects, from skincare innovations and mental wellness to emerging wellness trends. The programme featured engaging keynote speeches, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and a vibrant exhibition area, all designed to inspire and educate.

A standout moment was the keynote address by Dr Bongiwe Shongwe, founder of the Beauty and Wellness Summit, who stressed the importance of education in skincare and wellness.

“This event is about educating people on the right skincare treatments and wellness options available,” she said, urging consumers to avoid unverified products and opt for FDA-approved solutions that are safe for all skin and body types.

Dr Shongwe also underscored the value of local expertise, stating, “There are experts in this country that can provide these treatments,” as she advocated for greater trust in Eswatini’s own professionals.

Empowering Local Industry
Cara Berro, summit co-founder and owner of White Orchid Day Spa, echoed a strong commitment to supporting local businesses.

“The summit is meant to empower local businesses,” she stated. “We want to keep Eswatini up with global trends and what’s happening everywhere else.”

Berro emphasised the importance of local suppliers, stating:

“We want more suppliers to be local. We want to support local,” reflecting a shared vision to build a self-sustaining beauty and wellness ecosystem within the country.

Interactive Learning and Community Building

Participants took part in practical workshops on skincare routines, holistic wellness practices, and healthy lifestyle choices. Industry experts provided hands-on guidance and answered questions, creating a strong sense of community and shared growth.

The exhibition area bustled with activity, showcasing a variety of local brands. Attendees had the opportunity to test products, engage with professionals, and book services on the spot—gaining a tangible experience of the thriving beauty sector within Eswatini.

A Promising Future

The Eswatini Beauty & Wellness Summit 2025 set a new benchmark for industry events in the country. With a clear focus on education, community engagement, and local empowerment, the summit reflected a growing movement towards a more informed and health-conscious society.

“This is the very first beauty summit that we’ve ever done in Eswatini. We want this to be a yearly event, and we want to grow businesses,” said Berro in her closing remarks.

As the event concluded, it left a lasting impression—not only as a celebration of beauty and wellness—but as a catalyst for growth in Eswatini’s local economy and industry.
