Africa-Press – Eswatini. Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Senator Thulisile Dladla has urged residents of Lomahasha to establish business associations that can benefit from government support and drive community development.
Speaking on August 28, 2025, during her visit to officially hand over four houses to vulnerable families in Lomahasha and Shewula, the DPM emphasized that forming such associations would open doors to RDF funding under the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development. With this support, residents could acquire essential equipment like trucks and tractors to participate in government projects and generate income.
She explained that once associations are in place, Lomahasha Member of Parliament Zanele Mashaba would liaise with the Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, to ensure that projects initiated by the community receive government endorsement. Highlighting upcoming projects, such as road construction, the DPM noted that local associations with the right equipment could play a key role in these initiatives while also creating sustainable livelihoods.
“His Majesty the King takes great joy in seeing community-driven projects and often blesses them by attending inaugurations. Lomahasha stands to benefit greatly if residents organize themselves and seize these opportunities,” said DPM Dladla.
Her remarks were in response to Lomahasha Indvuna Yenkhundla, Mncedisi Matsentjwa, who expressed the community’s desire to welcome His Majesty King Mswati III to their area. He described the King’s presence as a symbol of blessings and development. Matsentjwa further praised the DPM’s visit, calling it a sign of hope for progress in the community.
Adding to the sentiments, Lomahasha Indvuna yemcuba Magejeza Mahlalela lauded the DPM’s energy and dedication, noting how elderly residents felt uplifted by her presence.
This call aligns with recent government-backed initiatives, such as the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development’s handover of a tractor and farming implements worth E1.5 million to the Sakhakwetfu Magengeni Multipurpose Cooperative Society in Mayiwane earlier this year. These efforts reflect the government’s continued commitment to empowering communities through sustainable projects.
