Africa-Press – Eswatini. Hipnotik Festival is making its comeback with fire, and the build-up shows are already setting the tone.

Speaking at the Eswatini Tourism Authority’s Events Calendar activation in Mbombela yesterday, founder of Swazi Jive Entertainment, Sakhile Nkambule, announced that South African rap star Okmalumkoolkat will perform at one of the festival’s official pre-events.

Nkambule said Hipnotik 2025, which returns on October 4 at Riders Ranch in Sidvokodvo, would be “one for the books.” He explained that after taking time off, the team studied the industry and learned from past shows.

“We are coming back stronger, safer and more exciting. This year’s Hipnotik is about growth, professionalism and giving fans an experience that’s globally competitive yet proudly Eswatini,” he said.

The build-up campaign kicks off with Okmalumkoolkat’s performance at Asante Guest House next Saturday, followed by Mic Cheque, a rap battle competition slated for September 13 at The Millin in Mbabane. These events are part of a rollout strategy to build momentum ahead of the main festival weekend.

Nkambule also unveiled new partnerships to elevate the festival. Global ticketing giant Eventbrite will power ticket sales, bringing a seamless and professional digital experience for fans, while EmerGcare 0966 has been roped in to provide on-site emergency and medical services.

He said these partnerships positioned Hipnotik as “more than just a music event, but a movement” that creates jobs for young people, provides platforms for local talent, and boosts Eswatini’s tourism sector.

“Hipnotik has always been about youth, culture and creativity. With new sponsors and partners, we are stepping into a bigger league, while still staying true to our Eswatini identity,” Nkambule told guests in Mbombela.

Stakeholders from Mpumalanga also praised Eswatini for its vibrant tourism calendar, which includes the Umhlanga Reed Dance, the Swazi Rally, the Imbube Marathon and other major events that continue to draw regional and international visitors.

For Nkambule and his team, though, all eyes are now on October: “This one is for the culture, for the youth, and for Eswatini,” he said.
