Africa-Press – Eswatini. As Eswatini marked its 57th Independence Day alongside the 57th edition of the International Trade Fair, Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini delivered a speech that firmly placed the nation’s future on the pillars of digital transformation and environmental sustainability.

Speaking before dignitaries, captains of industry, and citizens, the PM described the fair as more than a commercial showcase, it is a bold statement of Eswatini’s readiness to thrive in a modern, interconnected world.

This year’s theme, Digital Transformation: Creating Business Networks, captured the spirit of progress. Dlamini stressed that embracing technology will empower small and medium enterprises, enhance business linkages, and attract both local and international investment. He added that Eswatini must position itself as a strategic hub for commerce and innovation in the region.

Equally significant was the unveiling of the Green Zone, a dedicated space at the fair showcasing renewable energy, green financing, and sustainable innovation.

The Prime Minister applauded entrepreneurs, particularly women and youth, for leading eco-friendly business initiatives that create jobs while protecting the planet.

By aligning with the Ingwenyama Programme of Action and the Grand Plan for National Transformation, the Trade Fair stands as a mirror of the country’s progress and a compass for its future. The Prime Minister also celebrated the peace, stability, and development achieved under His Majesty King Mswati III’s leadership, noting that these values provide the foundation for digital and green growth.

In his address, Dlamini reminded citizens that the Trade Fair’s humble beginnings in 1968 as an agricultural showcase have blossomed into a multi-sectoral event of global standing. Today, it represents Eswatini’s resilience, innovation, and ambition to compete on the world stage.

For Eswatini, Independence Day was not only a celebration of past achievements but a declaration of a future driven by digital innovation, sustainable development, and inclusive growth.
