Africa-Press – Eswatini. Princess Sakhizwe, the Patron of Eswatini Consumer Fair has urged emaSwati to grace the event next week meant to support locally produced products.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday at the Mbabane Municipality Headquarters, the Princess first thanked the Municipality for demonstrating commitment to creating access to markets for local entrepreneurs.
“As someone who has personally experienced the challenge of finding locally made products in one space and having to move from one shop to another, I am deeply proud that, through the Made in Eswatini Consumer Fair, we are bringing together a wide variety of local offerings into one vibrant and central space. And not just any space, but one of the busiest streets in our capital-Mbabane, which I had the pleasure of touring just a few weeks ago.It was a heartwarming experience to interact with Emaswati who use this street regularly and witness firsthand the preparations being made to celebrate Eswatini’s finest.I wish to extend sincere appreciation to all our sponsors and partners who have responded so
positively and generously to the call. Your support is not just timely-it is transformative. You are helping lay a solid foundation for the growth and sustainability of small enterprises across the country,” she said.
The Princess further thanked MTN Eswatini for providing a service that will ensure that, the event is cashless while enhancing efficient shopping.
“I am also particularly pleased to note that this event will be completely cashless, thanks to MTN MoMo.This will ensure a seamless, secure, and efficient shopping experience for everyone involved while also enabling accurate post-event reporting, which is essential for future planning and accountability. This is truly innovation at work. Equally important is the decision to host a plastic-free event. The mandatory use of reusable bags, courtesy of Pick n Pay Lojaf, is a bold and commendable step toward environmental stewardship. We are indeed moving steadily toward His Majesty’s vision of a First World state-a future where innovation, sustainability, and economic inclusion walk hand in hand.In the spirit of celebrating His Majesty’s birthday with the rest of the Nation on this day, I was delighted to hear that consumers will enjoy limited-time discounts on the day of the fair”, she said.
