Ebrima Sankareh remarked: “When a file is submitted for legal advice, it will be studied to know how many people are going to be prosecuted.”
The file is with the Attorney General chambers and the government is also awaiting their final decision, he added.
Gambian security agents earlier completed their investigation into the alleged diplomatic passport fraud and recommended 14 people for prosecution.
Twenty were arrested in connection with the scandal, according to the government’s spokesperson. Out of twenty suspects, he said 14 were recommended for prosecution by the investigators.
He said the suspects include personnel at the Department of Immigration and Police, Officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Civilians.
