Africa-Press – Ghana. The Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, will join a group of distinguished international experts to present and examine diverse ideas at the 2025 World Meeting on Human Fraternity at Vatican City, Rome.

The meeting, an annual event that first took place in 2023 is organized by the Fratelli Tutti Foundation and other Vatican entities.

This year’s event themed: “Being Human Today: The Path of Fraternity” is slated for September 12–13 in iconic locations across Rome and culminating in St. Peter’s Square.

A news release by the Agrihouse Foundation said, “It is to this noble and lofty global pursuit that Ghana’s Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa has been invited to join distinguished international experts to present and examine diverse ideas and propositions deemed potent and capable of providing solutions towards the actualization of the common aspiration of the fraternity.”

“Hers is to make her contribution, as a speaker, in the session ‘The Future of Food Security: A Fraternal Approach,’” it said.

A peek into her dossier reveals a tireless advocate for the advancement of agriculture in Ghana, Africa, and around the world.

As the Founder and Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, Madam Akosa has worked closely with farmers, especially women, the youth, persons with disabilities, startups and agricultural value chain actors.

She has worked with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Ghana in advocacy and in the training of extension officers on vegetable production across Ghana’s 16 regions.

“These experiences continue to deepen her involvement and commitment in strengthening Agrifood systems in Ghana and Africa,” the release said.

It noted that her efforts in the agriculture and food security domain had attracted global recognition, including the Rally Mulheres do Agro Ambassador Award, and the 2024 Agrifood Prize “for her innovative contributions in shaping the future of food.”

According to the Fratelli Tutti Foundation, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Be Human Association, the organizers of the 2025 edition of the World Meeting on Human Fraternity, the goal is to “help guide public policies, educational pathways, knowledgeable decisions, and strategic choices to face the complex challenges of our time,” with an ultimate aim of rediscovering the path of fraternity.

“It is an opportunity for dialogue, sharing experiences, and – starting from fraternity – building new ways of hope and shared responsibility,” the release stated.

Madam Akosa had recently delivered an address at the Africa Food Systems Forum held in Senegal at the invitation of FAO where she shared her perspectives on a youth report by FAO.

Some impactful projects she had initiated and implemented in Ghana, through her Foundation, included the Ghana Poultry Day, Pre-harvest Agribusiness Conference and Exhibitions, and Agricultural Students and Mentorship Guidance, among others.
