Africa-Press – Kenya. Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo has finally been removed as Senate minority whip. Speaker Amason Kingi announced the changes on Thursday afternoon after a month-long standoff that put him at loggerheads with the Azimio senators.
In his elaborate communication, Kingi said that he effected the changes having been satisfied that the minority wing met all the set requirements and the standing orders.
“It is therefore my finding and I hereby rule that senator Fatuma Dullo has been validly removed as Senate minority whip,” Kingi said.
Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has replaced Dullo with his counterpart Edwin Sifuna as his deputy. While delivering the ruling, Kingi said that he verified several documents presented to him to effect the changes.
They include an order by the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal that struck out a case filed by Dullo challenging her ouster. The speaker also said that he was satisfied with the minutes of the minority senators that resolved to remove Dullo as well as the list of members who signed the petition to remove her
