Africa-Press – Kenya. Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition presidential aspirant Raila Odinga will on Friday take his campaigns to Kwale County.

This is part of his scaled up efforts to lock the Coast region votes, ahead of the August 9 General Election.

In his Kwale tour, the former Prime minister is expected to hold meetings with leaders allied to Azimio-OKA, from the county, in Ukunda.

Raila will then proceed for a second meeting with Duruma elders in Kinango.

He will crown his tour of Kwale with rallies in Mwavumbo and Ukunda.

This will be the ODM leader’s third day of the four-day tour of the Coast.

He is expected to conclude the tour on Saturday with planned meetings and rallies in Mombasa County.

Raila will then return to Nairobi where he will reveal the person that will be his running mate in the coming election.

He is expected to name the individual on anytime between Sunday and Monday, which is the day set by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission as the deadline for submission of running mate names.

This comes after the Azimio Running Mate selection panel handed him three names to pick from.

About eight individuals had expressed interest in deputising Raila.

They include; Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya, Governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Hassan Joho (Mombasa) and Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega), Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege and Stephen Tarus.
