Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Ministry Of Environment and Forestry has held a one day workshop for stakeholders, with the purpose of sensitizing them on the nature and purposes of the Improving Adaptive Capacity of Vulnerable and Food Insecure Populations in Lesotho, Project Sites, regulations, policies and bylaws, amid facing out of the project.
The Ministry’s Legal Officer Adv. Limpho Sekete, noted that Project Sites By laws (PSB) focus on the particular project site, while the Community Councils Bylaws (CCB) focus on the entire community council.
Adv. Sekete indicated that PSB also attracts private law while CCB attracts public law, however noted that both require stakeholder engagement as well as corporate governance between institutions.
He concluded by articulating that both bylaws can help rehabilitate the degraded environment, while contributing towards resilience against climate change and poverty reduction, and both require compliance with all respective applicable laws.
