Africa-Press – Mozambique. The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, is participating today in a virtual Extraordinary Summit of the SADC Heads of State and Government.
The Summit, to be chaired by the President of the Republic of Angola and Acting President of SADC, João Lourenço, will, amongst other matters, consider a report regarding the impending deployment of the SADC Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (SAMIDRC).
The Heads of State and Government will also consider the report of the Chiefs of Defence Forces of the Quadripartite Members on Coordination and Harmonization of Regional Peace Initiatives in Eastern DRC.
The leaders will also receive an update on elections in the region.
The summit was scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m. CAT.
