Boxing Fighters Prepare for Liberation Day Tournament

Africa-Press – Rwanda. A total of 34 boxers from 16 teams, including seven from Uganda, are set to compete in the Liberation Day boxing tournament.

Annually, various sports associations in Rwanda organise events to mark Liberation Day, which is celebrated on July 4.

This year, the Liberation Boxing Talent Competition will take place at Lycée de Kigali Gymnasium, featuring 16 bouts across multiple categories, including junior and senior divisions.

The tournament is organised by Bodymax Boxing Club, and preparations are already underway. All athletes have completed the mandatory fitness tests in accordance with standards set by the International Boxing Association (IBA).

Scheduled for July 5, 2025, the event will showcase young talents aged 13 to 16 in the junior category, while the senior category will include male and female boxers between the ages of 19 and 40.
