Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation, in collaboration with Africell SL, has launched Phase One of the Web Builder-thon Certification Program.
The initiative commenced at the Africell e-Learning Center located on Wilkinson Road, aimed at enhancing the web development skills of government officials.
This two-week training program is reportedly designed to be intensive and hands-on, conducting two sessions daily. Participants include ICT and Information Officers from a variety of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
According to the Ministry, the program’s objective is to equip those officers with the necessary skills to design, build, and manage official government websites effectively.
By providing that training, the Ministry aims to ensure that every MDA has a functional and up-to-date website. The advancement is intended to strengthen the digital presence of the government and support a whole-of-government approach to digital governance.
The Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation emphasized the importance of the initiative for improving digital governance and ensuring that citizens can access government information easily. The collaboration with Africell SL is deemed a significant step towards empowering government institutions to leverage digital tools effectively.
