Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Statistics Sierra Leone (Stats SL) has officially launched a nationwide logo design competition ahead of the 2026 Decennial Population and Housing Census, calling on individual Sierra Leonean graphic designers to submit proposals that capture the spirit and significance of this national data-gathering initiative.
The competition aims to develop a powerful visual identity for the 2026 Census that will be used throughout Stats SL’s communication and awareness campaigns. The winning logo is expected to embody the core values of inclusion, accuracy, and progress—placing people at the center, supported by data and geography, and highlighting the vital role of the census in shaping national planning, policy, and service delivery.
“The logo will be the cornerstone of the census brand, and it must communicate trust, civic importance, and cultural inclusivity across all communities,” Stats SL stated in its project overview. The selected design will be featured across all census-related platforms, including digital and print media, promotional materials, merchandise, and outreach initiatives.
The competition is open exclusively to individual Sierra Leonean graphic designers. The winning entry will receive a cash prize of NLe 30,000 and be spotlighted through both traditional and social media channels.
