Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The East End Lions have officially been crowned champions of the 2024/2025 Leone Rock Premier League, crowning a season marked by consistent performance, resilience, and unwavering determination.

The trophy presentation took place today, August 18, 2025, at the Approved School Field, where the newly elected President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, awarded the prestigious trophy alongside a cash prize of Nle500,000.

The event marks one of Kamara’s first major public engagements since taking office as SLFA president. During the ceremony, he highlighted the significance of recognizing excellence within Sierra Leonean football and reaffirmed the SLFA’s commitment to promoting the local game.

At the Approved School Feld in the east end of Freetown, President Babadi congratulated the East End Lions for coming a long distance to win the competition.

He said to the other Clubs that participated in the League, “There is no loser,” while thanking the Government of Sierra Leone, Leone Rock, the Premier League Board, National Sports Authority and all stakeholders of the League for powering the national league. He assured that the next season will kickstart as soon as possible, so as to align with international standard and best practice.

Led by their visionary coach, Mohamed Lamin Kamara (ML) and talented players, East End Lions demonstrated their unwavering commitment to excellence, clinching 70 points in total. They proved once again why they are one of the greatest football clubs in Sierra Leone.

The East End Lions secured their championship title through a series of impressive performances throughout the league, outpacing their rivals and demonstrating their skill and teamwork.

The trophy presentation provided an opportunity for players, technical staff, and supporters to celebrate this significant achievement in the presence of football authorities and fans.

The SLFA described the occasion as a major step towards fostering a culture of excellence in Sierra Leonean football, emphasizing the importance of supporting local clubs and promoting the sport at all levels.
