Freetown City Council Launches DortiMusGo Outreach

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Freetown City Council (FCC) Rolls Out DortiMusGo Community Outreach this week, as part of their ongoing DortiMusGo campaign and in support of the new Sanitation Byelaws.

According to Freetown City Council, over 700 Community Engagement and Enforcement Workers from the Freetown City Council (FCC) have hit the streets to engage residents and businesses across Freetown.

The Community Engagement and Enforcement Workers, according to the FCC, were organized into teams of 5–6 members.

“The city now has over 100 outreach units actively visiting neighborhoods, markets, and business areas.”

“FCC further added that, in just four days, these teams have conducted more than 4,000 conversations with residents, raising awareness about the new Waste Byelaws and the important role everyone plays in keeping our city clean.” Stated FCC.

Additionally, Freetown City Council stated that, together, they are ensuring that residents and business owners understand their responsibilities under the new regulations. Under the new Waste Byelaws, it is illegal to dump or burn waste; violators will face penalties.

“All households and businesses must register and pay with a designated Waste Collection Service Provider. A cleaner Freetown starts with you!”
